Exceptional teeth aligner Invisalign clear braces now in San Francisco, CA
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is the most well known brand name that uses clear plastic aligner trays to straighten teeth. Other brand names include Clear Correct, Red White and Blue, Essix, and Smart Moves. They are all an alternative to conventional braces and removable retainer-like systems.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Teeth move whenever a constant long-term force is applied to them. Invisalign consists of a series of clear plastic trays designed to follow the position of each tooth at each step of the straightening process. When wearing an aligner for the first time, it feels tight like it does not fit correctly. This tightness forces each tooth to move in a direction that makes that tooth fit into its corresponding tooth shape and straighter position in the aligner tray. It takes at least 2 weeks for the teeth to move and the aligner not to feel tight anymore. Then you change to the next aligner and continue this process till your teeth are straight.

I've been seeing Leo for over 11 years and he's done all kinds of good work for me. He's easy to talk to, explains all the options, and seems to keep up with the literature: always a good sign in a doctor! I recommend him to anyone.
What Are the Advantages of Invisalign?
The most obvious is its cosmetic advantage. Compared to braces, well-fitted aligner trays are generally not noticeable, nor do they interfere with your speech. Also, since the aligners are removed when eating and cleaning your teeth, there are no restrictions to what you can eat compared to braces. There is also less chance of getting tooth decay since it is just as easy to keep your teeth clean. Aligners are also more comfortable than braces. Compared to other aligner brands, Invisalign is the most sophisticated in its use of computers and technology, its commitment to the education of its certified providers, and in its advertising. Invisalign is suitable for the simplest to the most complex cases.
What Are the Disadvantages of Invisalign?
The advantage of being able to remove the aligner trays is also its biggest disadvantage. First, any aligner system is dependent on your commitment to wearing the aligner trays as directed; otherwise the teeth will not move as expected. Also, aligners can be lost.
I've been going to Dr. Arellano for about 20 years and I continue because of the excellent care and treatment I get with him and his whole office team. He is both professional and personable.
Recently I had a newer technique of gum surgery/grafting at his office called, "Pinhole Surgical Technique of gum grafting." I personally found this to be much easier to handle than the other style of gum grafting that I received years ago for the other side of my mouth. That worked, it was where part of my roof of my mouth was cut and surgically sewn onto the gum. However, I much prefer the pinhole technique. It was actually the easiest dental work I've had (beyond regular cleaning.) It didn't take too long and it didn't feel uncomfortable getting it done. I was swollen, but I think that happens regardless of what kind of gum grafting is done. I needed ibuprofin for a few days, no major pain. It healed well and just felt easy.
I am not a fan of having any work done in my mouth because that's me, but this was the easiest work I've ever had done.
So, if you are debating which kind of surgery to do I personally would recommend the pinhole surgery.
We've gone to Dr Arellano for many years and have never been disappointed with any of the work he's done. Recently my husband broke a tooth and Leo got him in and had the tooth repaired within a few short hours. Service like that is very hard to finds these days. His office staff is fantastic. Nice people you are always glad to see. I would highly recommend Dr Arellano to anyone who is searching for an honest, competent, well trained dentist.
I recently had a dental implant procedure performed by Dr. Arellano.
I could not be more pleased with the results. From the initial consultation to insertion of the implants, Dr. Arellano made this entire procedure understandable, easy, & pain-free !!
Highly recommend this professional dentist.
