Let's make dental cavities a relic of the past
Tooth cavities have been haunting us since we were small. Dental cavities, caused through tooth decay, have been one of the most constant painful experiences for many of us. In fact, tooth decay is regarded as the second most common disease in the United States. But, it's time now to make this disease a relic of the past and let it never cause discomfort and poor oral health.

The one way to make sure that dental cavities don't make constant appearances in your mouth is to follow strong and consistent oral hygiene habits. Such habits can start from the very basic tooth brushing. Make sure to brush your teeth daily at least two times. You can take your oral hygiene habits even further by adding flossing to the routine. Since toothbrushes can't get to hard-to-reach places in the mouth, flossing is important. Flossing can help you take out the food particles stuck between teeth and remove the dental plaque bacteria that cause cavities. Flossing too should be done daily. These two tasks complete the teeth cleaning part of your oral health care regimen.

If you are going to be free from cavities, these two tasks alone aren't enough. You need to pay attention to what you eat as well. Make sure to avoid sugary treats like candy and try to eat healthy food as much as possible. This helps in discouraging the formation of dental plaque on teeth. Lastly, don't forget to visit your dentist regularly to ensure optimum oral health.
